Okay, this makes sense. When you say "mix" them, do you mean just "save mixdown as" or manually mix the two to a tape deck?
Thanks for your help, BTW. |

On Sound forge, you copy one of the track and under the edit menu, go to special paste and press mix. i suppose this is the equivalent to the "mixdown" thing your talking about. |

(btw, this puchimo site has a crap load more old mix that I haven't bothered to find, right now I have about 20 tracks from him, but I think that is just half way through. Anyways) |

Another mixes update~
Morning Under Ground something new, looks like a mix of the Teno Hirawo Taiyouni song, not really H!P related? Puchimo Remix has a very nicely done trance mix of Do it! Now, much much better than the one on cheesy trance album... a Go Girl! mix just popped up moments ago too which is okay MIDR2 has come up with another Ne~e? mix with a "famicon" tune (NES) on top of the previous GB ver a new site with a DPGO mix click the upload board, find the Koko ni clash Do it Now, and an old one from neutanz a Night of Tokyo City jingle Also if you cared to check the jpm board, some dude posted a punk medley from these guys, the file isnt on the site, so you will have to check jpm... I had it in my BT folder before btw 2ch thread - this was posted on the remix thread, a 30MB random HP medley, though not as good as the legendary 120MB hour-long MM House mix, it is still amazing another post from 2ch, the motto clashes crazy about you is impressive
It looks like munemoni has 3 mixes under works too (said on their site) |

Recently not even the mixers have been putting out much stuff if at all, so I guess it is just a slow time.
One thing notable is that the thread on 2ch has reached its another 1000 post limit and now is on its version 10 already, which is here:

Does anyone have requests for Momusu songs in NES/C64 (or in that style)? I've been composing in that style for over 5 years... :D |

Speaking of NES style midi mixes, the puchimo dude has revised his super duper Scramble 8-bit mix just recently:
http://sound.jp/petitremix/
Amzing isn't it? I find the old version a bit better though, he says this one is a GB ver so I guess the old one has more famicom samples? It was more saturated. |

When i saw this thread was updated, i remembered something important which probably not many of you will care about. I devised a new, improved way to make vocal tracks, so you can expect to see some in the near future (why is this relevant? because you can use them to make remixes, duh!)
i wonder how people make H!P vocal rips... from my experience, i find that the mixers for H!P are quite sloppy and that makes a lot of trouble when extracting vocals. |

So I just "officially" started to make mixes, after the release of Apple's Garageband.. Not that I haven't tried before, but shit like Reason/Peak/Logic/DP just confuse me too much... (I am a damn n00b at audio). A note to everyone that has a mac to play with, GET GARAGEBAND, NOW. (it is like a juiced down Fruityloops with a idoit-proof UI)
I have been sort of collecting acapellas too but have yet to make one of my own. I just got hold of Reaktor so hopefully will see some results... And yes, SHARE THE ACAPELLAS, I will try to throw mine up later, anyone who tried to make these should know the pain...
On a related note, though I haven't tried, recall those H!P concert/live mic voice clips? I reckon you can use them as well as long as you are satisfied with the quality.. sure as hell not the MM ones but I got a couple Ayaya ones where she was actually singing instead of lip syncing, so the clip is *theoritically* usable as a vocal track. Just a thought. |

If you can play IT's (Impulse Tracker files) or S3M (Screamtracker 3 Modules), it would make my life a lot easier (and yours too, seeing as those files are 50k compared to the 3+mb rubbisher quality MP3... ;))
I'll YIM you.
EDIT: did you ever hear Jogeir Jiljedahl's remix of Galway? basically it's multichannel C64 music. That's what I do, too. (PS. God = Galway by Jogeir Liljedahl <-- grab it now :D I think this one plays correctly on Winamp, otherwise get Xmplay.) |

The NES chip has 5 channels, one of which is a sample channel, which is very useful for making good drums. The gameboy on the other hand has a much more interesting "noise" channel, and a very small sample channel instead of a triangle wave. The noise channel makes it very hard to sound good, though.
Anyway the Gameboy chip is much harder to make sound "full". He did a pretty awesome job of it, I say. :) |

In case anyone missed the older NES style of the same mix, you may right click, save as here. The difference is minute at a glance but quite interesting to see what each chip can do.
Also as a note of interest about 8-bit sounds, this guy, who did the amazing Ne~e mixes, has his site here ---> http://midr2.under.jp/
He got a crap load of .mmf which I have yet to able to play, but I guess someone here maybe interested. The irony is that he also use OS X (which I use), and I still can't figure out how he deals with those files (he probably does some hardcore commandline stuff there). Anyway. |

sorry, i didn't want to take the time to do so before, but as you request, i will explain it.
First, please read the previous method, i believe it was described somewhere in this thread.
Okay, here was my crazy idea. I intially used Sound Forge to make vocal rips, but i found that to be a long and arduous journey. I thought to myself, this would be so easy if i could use ACID instead. and so, i decided to do so. When i initially tried, i realized i couldn't phase invert so i went searching for a plugin to let me do so. I downloaded "analogX phase" to help me do so. From there, i opened up my instrumental and original tracks in ACID 4.0. I used the plug-in on either one of the tracks and matched them up directly. Poof, i had me a decent vocal rip for move's "World's End~rebirth~". I went to edit it a bit in Goldwave, by using the noise reduction filter a few times and then adding some reverb since some of the original reverb was lost in the noise reduction process.
Here are my reasons why this method is much better: 1- ACID = easy to use 2- everythiing is done in realtime so no long waiting times! 3- If you have a difficult time with the song, you can EASILY chop it up into pieces and work with it!
i guess if there is one drawback to this method it would: 1- you can't be quite as precise as in soundforge but that okay, it still works perfectly in that way.
so please, try this method! If you end up making anything worthwhile, post it! I will post the stuff i have made on my site once i have a decent number of rips. |

About acapella ripping, I happen to find out something that Japanese mixers use, and this seem to be Windows-exclusive so I can't try it at all. The program name is " 歌声りっぷ " , yes, no English name, clearly Japanese written.
Google returns me this: http://www.vector.co.jp/soft/win95/art/se127635.html , someone please try that out..
I guess it should work pretty well since 1) it is written dedicated for just acapella rip; 2) Japanese program, the algorythm probably inclines on ripping jpop (hopefully)
Now, who here has experience for audio on Mac? I heard good things about Reaktor on ripping vocals but I have yet to try. I got Reason and Peak too, if something works inside.
Edit: http://www.hatena.ne.jp/1062245283 Try that link too, a bunch other exclusively acapella ripping programs. |

Thanks for the link, Chancha. I will take this application for a spin here in a just a second. I need to rip some source wavs.
Edit: Okay, I gave it a try. Save As. I ripped Kousui, since I knew it was possible for it to come out pretty clean. I'll try it again on HP tracks I know are harder to rip. |

wow wow wow! this is the best thing i've ever seen! so easy to use! i just made an AI araba one to test and it's excellent! i just need to figure out the configuration tools and i'll be in business! props to whoever programmed that app! ::EDIT:: chancha! i love you for tell us about this program! I'M TRYING IT WITH EVERY SONG I CAN! for whoever want to contribute, we should make a jpop vocal track collection site or something. i've make quite a few already. DAI's Hi no Ataru Sakamichi turned out really well. the aforementioned Ai araba rip was pretty messy compared to other results i'm getting. damn H!P and it's poor production values! don't kill me tsunku! |

Wow.
My initial thoughts about H!P accapelas were "Euh....since I cant understand what they are singing I rather listen to the music itself. So whats the point?"
But that Kousui is just beautiful. It really puts things in perspective by showing nothing but the raw singing talent of the artist. Damn. |

Diu, nice to see that thing works (which i can't use..)
I got a bunch other rips that I dug out, these weren't done by myself so.. the Go Girl one is pretty damn clean:
Dekkai.. Daite yo Please go on Koi no Dance site The peace Go Girl
And here are two solo mic voice clips. The Afurechau one is pretty damn bad, but it *could* be useful otherwise. The Yeah Meccha one is okay, I will use it at least:
Afurechau BE IN LOVE Yeah! Meccha Holiday |

| QUOTE (Crapplejunktown @ Jan 25 2004, 11:18 AM) | | for whoever want to contribute, we should make a jpop vocal track collection site or something. i've make quite a few already. | That will kick serious ass. I will host some with my .mac thing.. time to put it in good use.
